On Wednesday, December 3, Bill was taken to the hospital very early for paralysis from the neck down. Those that know him know he has been battling thyroid cancer for years. After months of debilitating neck pain, he finally has answers. A mass was found in his spinal cord, and small masses have been found on the brain. After these masses were finally found on CT scans and MRIs yesterday, Bill was transported by ambulance to Iowa City. He underwent a high mortality rate surgery by the neurosurgeons here at the University of Iowa late last night. He pulled through like the miracle man we all know him to be. However, the road to recovery is a long one. Robin will need to be with Bill 24/7 as he needs around-the-clock care at this point. On top of hospital bills, household bills, and both being off work, Bill is also looking at needing restorations to the house to make it handicapped accessible for him.

To know Bill and Robin is to love them. They are the most amazing, loving, selfless people. They need our support now more than ever. By reducing their financial burden, we can take this weight off of their shoulders and allow them to focus solely on Bill’s recovery. If anyone in this world deserves to catch a break, it is them.
