Healing & Recovery for Katya ♡ Kate

Dear wonderful community of Family, Friends and Supporters of our beloved Katya aka Kate Niswonger,

Kate first found out she had a problem when she noticed she had a painful lump in her right breast back in 2009. Initially, she went to the Will County Health Center and received no help.

"I was told to fill out a form...that had to do with birth control. They said they didn’t do mammograms there and that I was too young to have breast cancer. Only through contacting the local hospital, did I receive any information. I was eventually referred to the Breast and Cervical Cancer of Illinois. They  graciously helped me locate a kind surgeon that verified that it was indeed unfortunately breast cancer."

The cancer was and continues to be extremely aggressive. It was discovered & biopsied as a stage II with a stage III tumor. After multiple surgeries (currently a total of 15) that included a mastectomy which was followed by radiation and numerous tough chemotherapies—unfortunately her breast cancer continues to spread again and again. It spread to her liver and her lung causing both extreme pain and fluid to fill up in her left lung. When breast cancer spreads to other areas of the body (i.e. organs and bones), it is known as Stage IV metastatic breast cancer. Her breast cancer is also in her rib cage, femur and spine and currently her right pectoral muscle. This means the cancer is eating away at her bones and muscle. For a long time, she has been battling this with everything she has had to throw at it.

Without the support of a full time job, this has been extremely difficult and even more difficult because she cannot heal from cancer and simultaneously work. The current treatments for her breast cancer lead to the side effects of hot flashes, memory loss, extreme fatigue, neuropathy, brain fog, weight gain, dry & thin skin, nails & hair, nausea & loss of sleep. Also, they cause a weakened immune system, chronic ear infections, weakened jaw & teeth, sinus infections, swollen glands, sore throat, fevers and immense susceptibility to any infection, virus, bacteria, flu and so forth. Although she has been working on and off, she is no longer able to work and she is in urgent need of financial assistance. She is trying to keep her car, pay her bills,  as well as figure out what combination of treatments will work & try some new methods.

We ask for your generous donations today to give Katya a second chance on life, a second chance on whatever it will take to figure out how to beat this "dis-ease" of the body.

Katya is interested in trying several alternative therapies in conjunction with her current treatments.

With this financial support, she can  take the time to try new therapies to see if there is a method that will beat this once and for all.  She is so beyond grateful for your support, and so humble and kind she couldn't even bring herself to ask the community for support, which is why I am writing to you today.

Because she has been such a supportive wonderful friend to me and so many others—it is time for us to give back, if you can.  Thank you for your consideration, we can't wait to tell you about the adventure of healing that unfolds.  If all you can give is $5, we are still very thankful, there is no amount too small during this challenging time.

Sincerely,

Aurora Danai  & Friends & Family of Katya
