Healing & Recovery for Ghia-Paige Westover

On March 17, 2019 our family started our Sunday morning celebrating Ghia’s youngest nephews baby dedication at our church Promiseland San Marcos Church in San Marcos, TX.  When shortly after the church service Ghia was accidentally shot at the home of her older sisters house.  Ghia was outside in the backyard visiting and petting her dog Major who lives with her sister.  Her sister’s husband was inside the house in the dining room clearing a gun not aware of a bullet in the chamber. Accidentally hit the trigger, gun went off, bullet went through the wall and through a 2x4 and then hit Ghia outside.  She was shot in the chest right above her left breast. She had to have exploratory surgery to find the bullet. Which was in her small intestine.  Since the initial surgery on March 17, 2019 she has developed an infection in her incision and the doctors have found her case more serious than it really is. Ghia ended up having surgery again due to the infection. The doctor said that it’s a miracle that she is alive. The bullet missed her aorta by an inch. The bullet went through the worst part of her digestive system and was only able to patch it. He said that 80% of the time it takes and that’s what we’re hoping for. If it doesn’t then they will have to reconstruct her whole digestive system. She’s going to be in her for at least another week maybe two.  We honestly can’t image what the cost of these two or three surgeries and additional hospital fees are going to be or what to expect.  Prayering for healing and comfort for our baby girl.  Anything given would be a blessing.
