Hi there,

My name is Rachel and that is me cuddling me soul mate Honey aka Honey Bunny! Honey and I live in Mammoth Lakes, CA where we go on adventures daily excluding the last 6 weeks. Unfortunately 6 weeks ago Honey jumped off our balcony, approximately 15 feet, possibly to chase a cat, squirrel, most likely not a bear, or some critter. Sadly she gashed her knees, which have since healed, and tore her carpal ligaments. Over these last 6 weeks she has been taken to the vet weekly to check her legs and change her casts, carried to and from the grass in order to do her “duty” (heehee) all in order to prevent the possibility of surgery. We found out a last week she needs the surgery; partial bilateral carpel arthrodesis in both her arms. Living in the mountains is wonderful however can be expensive; we have been given an estimate of approximately $3,800. We are asking GoFundMe donors to help us raise $5,400 which will cover the previous $1,200 vet bills, cost of the surgery, and to cover the cost of the fundraiser.

We are kindly and graciously asking to raise the money by the end of October so she can heal by New Year’s Day as the recovery process takes 8 weeks. Honey is my best friend; my soul mate, she and I have a bond that most pet owners would understand. Our love goes deep and I would, and will, do anything to ensure her legs get the proper attention and healing process they need so we can get back out to the gorgeous Eastern Sierras and go on more adventures.

Honey and I would be so grateful and thankful to gain any help we can; a donation, recommendations to another vet, a prayer, anything! We are sending everyone a lot of love and inner peace, which is what she and I find when we are together, especially when we cuddle as we are in the photo.
