My gorgeous big hearted sister Karen was drawn to Cambodia and their beautiful people just over ten years ago.
She's worked tirelessly in education and livens up the place with her passionate singing at Tacos Kokopelli mostly on weekends!
Many of you have seen the FB post and have asked how you can help. Someone suggested I create this page so that they can contribute financially.., which is the best contribution aside from your well wishes.
Sadly she was involved in an accident on her bike a few nights ago and it's been a horrendous journey for her son and friends to get the medical help and healing she needs. They've had to pay up front fees everywhere they've taken her and she's finally had some facial reconstruction surgery (titanium plates in her cheeks-sinuses and jaw) at a hospital with International doctors yesterday.
Her friends have rostered times to tend to her bedside needs for this week, and we pray infection will be thwarted.
Apparently there is a chance that her school-insurance will cover some of this eventually, however we're not 'holding our breath' as no-one is informing us of the details of what's covered.
We do 'trust the universe' however need to pay cash up front everywhere she goes for treatment and thankfully her friends are negotiating that in Khmer and paying out of their own pockets.
They've already paid over $3000USD and I'm sure she'll be in at least a week.., so it's urgent we raise funds to ensure there's money there when she needs it.
I'm so touched by their love, care and generosity and will look to get over there myself as soon as I deal with an absessed tooth today. Any contribution you make will be enormously welcomed.
