Heal Coach Melodie

Blocksport is a family. We say it often. But we really mean it. Like any family, there are times when we must all come together to lift another up. That time is now.

Coach Melodie Malone joined the Blocksport staff this year as the Head Coach for 14 Elite. Each of us quickly gravitated toward her warm spirit. Outside of Blocksport, Melodie is a Southern University Graduate, AKA sorority member, and this year also began teaching 2nd Grade at Harmony Science Academy in Garland Tx. 

Unfortunately Melodie's life has taken a sad turn.  Recently on October 20th, she and 4 other Southern University Alumni were involved in a highly serious car accident. All 5 people, including Melodie, are still in intensive care today. Melodie suffered the most injuries. She's heavily sedated & in critical care at Texas Health Presbyterian of Plano. Due to the extent of her injuries, she has a long road ahead of her. She's undergone 3 extensive surgeries since the accident's impact and must undergo another in a few days. 

Many of you have asked how you can help? We appreciate your support. In the interest of transparency, what Melodie's family needs most are prayers and financial support. As mentioned, Melodie recently began a teaching position, but she has not been employed long enough to qualify for medical benefits. Because ICU will only allow for brief visits at specified times, Melodie's mom is staying at the hotel located inside the hospital. The hotel stay is $80 per night.  As you can imagine, this is a burden both mentally and financially for Melodie's mother. Any financial support you choose to give is greatly appreciated. Give from your heart. No donation is too small. Funds raised will help with the ongoing medical care for Melodie & hotel expenses for the Malone Family.
