HEADSTONES FOR ULRIC AND JULIA LAROCHE
MT. OLIVET CEMETARY, CHICAGO
As requested by several different cousins, this Go Fund Me page is being set up in an effort to raise funds for the headstones of Ulric Joseph LaRoche, 1/15/1856 through 6/11/1917 and his wife, Julia Delor LaRoche, 11/20/1864 to 8/12/1932. They were both born in Canada. They met in Bay City, Michigan and got married there on 8/13/1883 and moved to the Chicago area after stops in Indiana.
As I indicated in my previous emails, we feel it is important these graves be remembered with proper headstones. It’s sad to think that Ulric and Julia would be singled out as the only ones in unmarked graves. These graves are in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Chicago. Although we never knew Ulric and Julia, we received many gifts from them to include, the family name, their DNA leading many of us to a long healthy life, their Catholic faith, and our US citizenship.
We hope that you will take this into consideration and make a donation. Collectively we will provide a basic headstone for these graves for all to see in the coming generations. The cost of this is $1959 plus the Go Fund Me fee. We already have seen a lot of interest in this and will keep you apprised once we receive our goal! Dan LaRoche
