It's been exactly a month since we sadly lost our beloved sister and daughter, Kirstin Noon after a long battle with Batten Disease.
When she left this earth, she joined in heaven our brother and son Kevin who passed away tragically June 13, 1997.
At the time of Kevin's death, it was very difficult to cover the expenses of his funeral and burial, much less the cost of a headstone. Kevin had no life insurance cause he was only 8 years old and our parents had gone through a divorce just 2 years prior...so money was a challenge for us as a family.

My mom thankfully made the decision and investment in buying 6 plots for our family, knowing that she would want to be buried there as well as Kirstin when her illness ran its course, plus me and my 2 older brothers if the plots were needed unexpectedly.

She also made sure the concrete foundation was laid for a large upright family monument which is standard given how many plots we own. The challenge over the last 2 decades though has been deciding on what to go with in terms of design and style and having enough money to pay for it when so much of our resources have been dedicated to giving Kirstin her best chance of life and all other family expenses (education, mortgage, medical bills, etc).

But now that Kirstin has passed we can't put this off any longer and are asking for the support of our family, friends, and community.
We know that we have asked for assistance before with Kirstin's hospital bed and we are eternally grateful for the outpouring of love that was shown to her and our family but now to truly lay her to rest alongside my brother and any other family, I'm asking again for assistance. Kirstin didn't have life insurance because of her preexisting conditions so all of her funeral expenses were out of pocket and we borrowed against our life savings to cover it.

We are talking to a vendor and would love to have a monument in place by spring but no later than 6/13/20, the 23rd anniversary of Kevin's passing.
It hurts to go visit and see the dirt still there with no name marker. It would be a wonderful "gift" to my siblings to be able to memorialize them properly.
Whatever you can give is so appreciated, a little goes a long way.
God bless you all for your kindness yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
