Headstone for Bertha Lucille Farley Boss. Griff.
Donation protected
Our grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, Bertha Lucille Farley Bossert Griffin, was born in Berton, South Dakota, on March 14, 1890. She raised three children during the Depression and used her natural musical gifts to teach piano, to play the organ for her church, and later, to add to the movie-going pleasure of many people by playing music for silent films at several theaters in Seattle. When she died, in July, 1967, she was buried at Evergreen-Waschelli Cemetery in Seattle, but the cost of the headstone was more than the family could afford. Now, over 50 years later, we, her family, would like to bring closure and peace to her memory and her grave by placing a headstone to mark her place in the earth and in our hearts. The cost of producing a headstone and placing it on a grave at Evergreen-Waschelli is about $2500. That is our goal and we hope to show our love for her in doing so. We are thankful for your financial gift in helping us place a headstone on Grandma Lucille’s grave.
