Headstone for Dan & Kayla Amos

Donation protected

Dan & Kayla Amos were killed on February 14, 2016 when an alleged drugged driver crossed the centerline and struck them head on.   The "Valentine's Day Crash" (as it has been commonly referred to as) was investigated by the Anne Arundel County Poice Department, Traffic Safety Division and charges were filed by the State's Attorney's Office against the driver, alleging multiple offenses of driving while under the influence of drugs.

Dan & Kayla were celebrating Valentine's Day and their 6 month wedding anniversary on the day they were killed.   Here is Kayla's last Facebook update, from February 14th, that was attached to the photo below:

"Celebrating Valentine's Day and a half year anniversary today with my husband! Totally unintentional but I'm so excited to always be able to celebrate our love and our marriage on this day for the rest of our lives! I can't believe it's already been six months, time really does fly when you're having fun!"

Dan & Kayla's families (Amos, Cosner & Leonard) need help to cover the costs for a headstone.   Dan & Kayla were buried together so only one headstone is needed to memorialize their final resting place.  Currently the gravesite is marked by a small marker that was donated by Lakemont Memorial Gardens until the families are able to afford the headstone.   (see photo below)  The total cost for the headstone is $7642.60 and all funds raised will go to Lakemont Memorial Gardens.

They lived for the Lord.  Dan was in the church praise band and on staff at Chesapeake Church in Huntingtown, MD.  Kayla,  recently graduated from Liberty University, worked at a local jewelry store and was a team leaderin the Hospitality Ministry at Chesapeake Church.  Together they were the embodiment of what the Lord Jesus Christ wants for us all.  To love Him.  To serve Him.  To sacrifice to Him.  To praise Him.  To live everyday for Him.

We know they are in Heaven together singing and praising our Heavenly Father. Together they are still showing us how He wants us to live.  During this tragedy, their story has spread far and wide bringing the gospel of Christ to people who have read their story. People are coming to the Lord.  He doesn't make bad things happen but causes all things to work together for the good of those who love Him.

Dan had tattooed on his feet "To Stand," to remind him of Ephesians 6:13 which reads: "Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand."  While their lives here on Earth are over, their story continues to radiate across the land.

So please consider leaving a note and a donation so the families can honor Dan and Kayla.

Thank you,
Rachael
