HEADing to Everest

My name is James Lamb and I am the co-ordinator of a group of people with serious acquired brain injuries who are challenging themselves by trekking to Everest Base Camp in November this year.

Some of the group were told by medical experts they would never again walk, talk or have a “normal” life. The possibility of a trek like this was viewed as simply impossible.
At present the group is comprised of eight people linked to various Headway groups in Scotland, who support people with brain injuries, plus four guides. Most had never met before this venture materialised, so the group are preparing for this challenge by meeting, bonding and undertaking training walks together.

I am the co-founder of a charity, The Little Sherpa Foundation (www.littlesherpafoundation.com) which is based in Dunkeld, Scotland & Phortse, Nepal Himalaya. The charity has a trekking agency which will be responsible for all the logistics involved in Nepal.

This undertaking will involve massive personal challenges outwith the brain injury, plus requiring the group to bond together as an extraordinary team. We hope this will put a spotlight on individuals dealing with life changing difficulties and hidden disabilities, as well as their families.

Our aim is to inspire people all over the world that there is life and support after brain injury. Please donate to help us in our quest.
Thank you.
