Head Injury: Stunt Performer Chris Balualua

Donation protected

Chris Balualua is a talented martial artist, martial arts tricker, and stuntman that trained his entire life to follow his teenage dreams inspired by his friends he grew up with; and fairly recently living his dreams came to a stop due to his health. He linked his symptoms to when he started to not feel 100%. He was recently injured on a movie last year and now is suffering severe symptoms of mild traumatic brain injury and post concussion syndrome. He is continuing to stay positive, stress free, and staying on a strict diet to reduce inflammation per his naturopath. He is still fully functional and not in any pain. He can sit, stand, walk, eat, help others, etc. However his severe insomnia has caused him depression and extreme anxiety. His quality of life has been very poor. He shared his incident with his MDs, naturopath, stunt performer friends, workmen’s comp. Many believe his symptoms are of post-concussion/mild traumatic brain injury. Chris eats healthy and doesn’t believe he has any autoimmune issues. He has being going through an elimination diet to try and figure out if eating certain foods is causing his severe insomnia.

Chris has been recommended to check in at Revive Clinic in Denver, Colorado through his friend. Revive Clinic is unparalleled and is the leading neurological and recovery optimization clinic. Revive specialize in neurological rehabilitation for patients suffering with functional symptoms due to an injury, degeneration, developmental disorder or autoimmune issue.

ABOUT REVIVE:

Revive is successful in patient care due to the specificity in assessment and therapeutic interventions.  Each patient has an individualized, one-on-one intensive approach. Revive offer neurological rehabilitation with medical intervention, immune support, diet and nutrition counseling, physical/occupational therapy, neuropsych counseling, life style coaching, a suite of IV infusions, peptides and stem cell replacement therapy all coupled together in an integrated approach based on each patient's medical history, diagnostics, comprehensive physical exam, neurocognitive assessment and lab work.

Through scientific and quantifiable measurements Revive target areas which have lost integrity and are no longer working as efficiently. The result is known as “neuroplasticity,” supported by chemical, structural, and functional changes. Neuroplasticity refers to our brain's ability to reorganize itself, creating new pathways to overcome bad habits, function or organization from the brain throughout the entire body. This ability to "re-wire" the neuroplasticity of the brain is possible at any age in life and regardless of how long ago the initial injury occurred. This is made possible through environmental stimuli targeted to specific areas of the brain to make significant changes in the overall physiology.  The brain has the ability to change physical structure between neurons, communication speed between neurons, integrative networks between areas of the brain, altering function, shifting how and when the areas are activated.  This can occur in isolation from one another, but our approach is for this to take place in concert. This process creates lasting improvements to induce overall enhancements in the quality of life.

The average treatment schedule at Revive Treatment Centers lasts 10-15 days. The visit with Revive will include pre and post-diagnostic testing and daily treatments customized to the patient's needs which will last 4-5 hours over the span of each day.

A BRAIN INJURY does not just affect the physical abilities or lack of movement in your body,  it also affects all of the systems in the body internally.  When the brain has an strong disruption such as surgery for tumor removal or a stroke, it creates a storm within the body sent through your central nervous system.  This storm then travels through your metabolic system and can effect your thyroid, digestion, hormones, gut function, adrenals, organs, sexual function and more. These are the invisible injuries which are needing to be addressed.

Revive Treatment Centers is focused on finding the root cause of the condition. Through looking first at the health of the brain. Revive take a diagnostic journey to locate the areas which are in effect with stabilization and recovery:

-Speech
-Balance
-Cognitive Ability
-Memory
-Restricted Movement / Paralyzation
-Quality of Life

Chris needs to check in to Revive Clinic so he can get all the necessary tests done and figure out what is going on with his health so he can finally sleep and get back to a normal life. If he can tackle his severe insomnia then he believes his other symptoms he was originally concerned about, would also be fixed.

Thankfully the stunt team was able to get Chris workmen’s compensation under Cast and Crew; workmen’s compensation will not cover Revive due to Revive clinic being out- of-network. This is the struggle.

Chris is desperately reaching out for your help to get him to Revive Clinic in Denver. The cost for the assessments and treatments would be minimum $20,000 - $30000+ depending on the severity. . This cost does not include flight and hotel per Revive Patient Advocate Debbie LeBleu (He plans to take care of his flight, housing and transportation when he gets there since he believe he is capable of affording at least that.) Because Revive is so expensive, he is not capable of paying this alone.

Please share and contribute if you can. Chris is truly grateful for your contribution.

Love,

Chris Balualua
