Join Anna's fight against cancer

I have set up this fundraising page on behalf of my coolest aunt ever - Anna - and her family: her daughters Emily and Allison (my lovely cousins) and her dear husband George. Our world fell apart in February 2023 when Anna went to A&E thinking she might have gallstones, but the MRI scan revealed significant abnormalities on her pelvis. Following a biopsy and after a very agonising wait, we received the shocking news that Anna has an aggressive stomach cancer with ovarian metastasis, known as Krukemberg Tumor - one of the rare tumours.   Anna has only just turned 38 and her two daughters are 10 and 13 years old and so as you can imagine, the news has rocked all of our worlds and we are still trying to process it. Sadly, the prognosis for anyone with Krukemberg Tumor isn't good that all. Concerningly, the current treatment available for aggressive tumours on the NHS is limited compared to many other countries and the backlog is huge, and the offer is sadly dependent on where you live. Therefore, Anna and her husband, George, decided to treat themselves overseas to a centre for excellence, which provides excellent clinical practice, access to clinical trials and the latest treatments, and which have an emphasis on patient quality of life. The private pathway comes with a hefty price tag. We are therefore looking to raise funding to enable Anna to receive the best possible care for this horrible disease. This will help give my aunt a bigger chance of survival and importantly provide her with a better quality of life so that she can focus on making memories with George and her daughters. For us, the target for 2023 will be to slow down cancer progression, perform the surgery and access treatments that support Anna's quality of life after surgery. Speed is of the essence as these tumours are sadly very aggressive and grow fast. Please help us to get Anna the best available treatment so that she can have as much chance as possible to fight this tumour. My aunt has dedicated her life to her family and friends, she has spent her life helping others and she has the most beautiful soul and the most gentle heart, now is the time to help her and her family get the best possible care she so deserves.
