Hi, my name is John Hildebrand and I’m setting this up on behalf of my friend Marcos Gasper.

Marcos is one of those rare people who constantly shows up for others. He’s helped me with countless home projects over the years and never hesitates to lend a hand. He has the biggest heart, and anyone who knows him will tell you—he lives to serve and support those around him.

A few days ago, Marcos suffered a serious accident while helping me repair a garage motor. Out of nowhere, a heavy metal bar snapped loose and struck him directly in the face. I was standing right next to him when it happened — it was terrifying to witness. This easily could have killed him.

I rushed him to the ER as fast as I could, and despite being in unimaginable pain, Marcos never once complained. That’s just the kind of person he is — strong, humble, and full of quiet courage.

He ended up needing major surgery, and his jaw is now wired shut for at least four weeks, maybe longer.

Through it all, Marcos has stayed incredibly strong—his deep faith in God has been his anchor. I reached out to someone from his church, and they shared this:

“Well, he’s a very hardworking individual. He has a heart of a servant—if anyone ever needed help, from a ride to fixing something in their home or even financially, he was always willing to help. Even though he looks serious, he has a funny sense of humor. In all, a great person to be around.”

Now it’s our turn to help him. Marcos doesn’t have health insurance, and he’ll be out of work for a while. Funds raised will go toward his medical bills, recovery, and basic living expenses.

With the hardworking spirit Marcos is known for, he relies on his hands-on jobs to stay afloat. But now, with his jaw wired shut and his body healing, he’s unable to work — which puts an even greater financial strain on an already tough situation. He’s home now, resting and recovering, but the road ahead is long.

Any support—no matter how small—means so much. Let’s show Marcos the same love and generosity he’s always shown others.
