He Was Just Selling Ice Cream — Suddenly He Was Shot.
Let's Help Mandu Heal.
On May 31, 2025, Mandu Johnson — a husband, father, and local small business owner — was shot while driving his family’s homemade ice cream truck through a quiet Columbia, TN neighborhood.
Unbeknownst to him, the shooter had just murdered two neighbors moments ago. Mandu was simply in the wrong place at the worst possible moment.

As bullets tore through the side of the truck, two bullets struck Mandu near the hip. Incredibly, by God's protection, he survived. He drove himself home, bleeding, to protect his wife and children. He locked the doors, secured his home, and waited for police.
We are so grateful he survived, but the trauma, medical delays, and financial aftermath are overwhelming.

Why We’re Asking for Help
Mandu is still carrying one of the bullets. His surgery was delayed. This terrifying event has been disarming and emotionally exhausting.
His family is facing:
• Ongoing medical and trauma care
• Legal fees
• Financial strain as he recovers and is unable to work
His ice cream truck — built from a broken-down scrap vehicle with his son Ethan (now serving a 2-year mission) — was their family’s labor of love. A way to connect, give back, and provide.

Now they need your help to heal what’s been broken.

One Bullet Extracted, a deeper one is still needed to be extracted.
