Help Billy Deevey, victim of life threatening vehicle strike

Donation protected
A Tragic Pedestrian Accident! Our nephew is an intellectually delayed young man who was hit by a car then a truck in London Ontario. Fighting for his life, Billy sustained many fractures throughout his head and limbs. He now lies in a coma, leaving his mom to take care of his three highly special needs children all under the age of ten. Mom needs support to take care of children while she is at hospital waiting and praying for her “broken baby” to wake up.

What Happened
The day began by realizing that it was time to do the wash - for most people this is a mundane task but for Bill, it was the day he was to prove to his mom that he could do it independently. Terri, his mom, kept asking him to bring it to her home, save some time and money! Yet Billy was feeling pretty good and today was the day he would go to a new place all on his own.
This simple 32-year-old man has been seen all over the streets of London, riding his bike or walking, often with a smile on his face. Movement is a joy and when accompanied by music, it is the closest thing to heaven for Bill. His world opened more as just this past year he conquered his fear and graduated to taking the bus. Billy suffers from a genetic disorder that has left him with a global and intellectual disability. He is truly the strong silent type; handsome and youthful who learned to talk late in childhood.
Billy is not big on words but has a big kind heart. Despite being bullied most of his life, and being robbed of his bike many times, he held no grudges and never did fight. He never drank, smoked or did any kind of drugs. Bill believed people at face value. With his disability he could not identify when someone was lying or manipulating him. He just felt that that person was “not nice” when he fell victim to someone who was deceiving him.
As an Anishinaabe woman from Northern Ontario, Billy’s mom Terri- Lynn suffers from Inter-Generational Trauma. Yet with deep love she raised Bill on her own and, as Bill found love she took on raising his three disabled children all under 10 years old. Cute, sensitive but very active, two out of the three children are suffering from the same condition as Bill.
So, on that fateful November 5th, just a few days after the time change, Billy decided it was the day to prove his independence! He left his room that he rented from a very kind family, put his few belongings into his backpack and called his mom to say he was on his way to Tommy’s Suds. He would check in with his mom multiple times a day and this time she received his call at 6:15 PM stating he was on his way. The early evening light was different though, it didn’t match the clock and that would be enough to confuse Bill.
At 6:45 PM Terri-Lynne received the call saying Bill was struck by a car and then struck by a truck! Bill received many fractures on both arms, one leg, his face and skull and now, 11 days after the accident, Bill has not yet woken up from his coma.
As Bill is on ODSP, there will be little room financially for his care and the care of his children. Please help. We aim to raise $5,000 in the hopes that Terri will be able to bring in support for the children while she is supporting Bill. We know that when he wakes up, if he wakes up, he will be confused, and she needs to be there for him. With love, prayers and your support this family will make it through this tragedy. May you be blessed for anything that you can offer.
