**Help My Dad Fight Cancer – Ayuda a mi Papá a vencer el cáncer**

**My dad has started chemotherapy after a recent cancer diagnosis. Though part of his treatment is provided by Mexico’s public healthcare, we are facing the rest alone — and he needs our help to survive with dignity.**

**Mi papá ha comenzado la quimioterapia tras un diagnóstico reciente de cáncer. Aunque parte del tratamiento es cubierto por el sistema de salud pública en México, el resto lo enfrentamos solos — y necesita nuestra ayuda para sobrevivir con dignidad.**

My name is Fabio Enrique, and I'm raising funds to help my father, who has just started chemotherapy after a recent cancer diagnosis. After years of working himself to exhaustion to support others, he now faces the hardest moment of his life.

Doctors recently told us that surgery is no longer an option. The only path now is chemotherapy and long-term treatment to slow the progression of the illness and give him quality of life.

We are still trying to understand the medical picture, but what’s clear is that there are many **uncovered costs**. Although part of the treatment is covered by Mexico’s public health system, we are on our own for everything else: medications, food, medical transport, and — most importantly — the ability for him to rest and heal without being forced to work again.

Despite all of this, my dad is full of desire to live. His body is an example of relentless resistance — fighting through pain, weight loss, emotional and physical exhaustion. He dreams of once again enjoying a sweet tamal, of seeing Prague someday, and simply of living without pain.

He spent most of his life helping others — his siblings, his family, his father (since he was a child), and me — and never had a safety net for himself. During the COVID pandemic, while living in Canada, he continued to work — risking infection daily despite having diabetes, high blood pressure, and other health issues. That’s the kind of man he is: he kept showing up, even when no one expected him to.

Now he needs help.

The goal of this campaign is to raise **€100,000 EUR** to cover his ongoing treatment, medication, living expenses, and afterwards physical and emotional recovery. If he gets better, he dreams of running a small home business, seeing me in Germany, and finally enjoying calm afternoons with the friends he still has left — after more than 5 years of solitude and survival.

Mein Name ist Fabio Enrique und ich sammle Spenden, um meinem Vater zu helfen, der vor Kurzem die Chemotherapie begonnen hat, nachdem bei ihm Krebs diagnostiziert wurde. Nach Jahren harter Arbeit bis zur Erschöpfung, um anderen zu helfen, steht er nun vor dem schwersten Moment seines Lebens.

Die Ärzte haben uns mitgeteilt, dass eine Operation keine Option mehr ist. Der einzige Weg ist jetzt eine Chemotherapie und eine langfristige Behandlung, um den Fortschritt der Krankheit zu verlangsamen und ihm Lebensqualität zu ermöglichen.

Wir versuchen noch, das ganze medizinische Bild zu verstehen, aber eines ist klar: es gibt viele ungedeckte Kosten. Obwohl ein Teil der Behandlung vom öffentlichen Gesundheitssystem in Mexiko übernommen wird, müssen wir den Rest alleine stemmen: Medikamente, Essen, medizinischer Transport und – am wichtigsten – die Möglichkeit, sich auszuruhen und zu genesen, ohne erneut arbeiten zu müssen.

Trotz allem ist mein Vater voller Lebenswillen. Sein Körper ist ein Beispiel unermüdlicher Widerstandskraft – er kämpft gegen Schmerzen, Gewichtsverlust, emotionale und körperliche Erschöpfung. Er träumt davon, wieder einen süßen Tamal zu genießen, eines Tages Prag zu sehen und einfach ohne Schmerzen zu leben.

Er hat den Großteil seines Lebens damit verbracht, anderen zu helfen – seinen Geschwistern, seiner Familie, seinem Vater (seit seiner Kindheit) und mir. Und er hatte nie ein Sicherheitsnetz für sich selbst. Während der COVID-Pandemie arbeitete er in Kanada weiter – trotz Diabetes, Bluthochdruck und anderen Gesundheitsproblemen setzte er sich täglich der Ansteckungsgefahr aus. So ein Mensch ist er: Er ist immer da, auch wenn niemand es erwartet.

Jetzt braucht er Hilfe.

Das Ziel dieser Kampagne ist es, 100.000 € EUR zu sammeln, um seine laufende Behandlung, Medikamente, Lebenshaltungskosten sowie seine körperliche und emotionale Genesung zu finanzieren. Sollte es ihm besser gehen, träumt er davon, ein kleines Geschäft von zu Hause aus zu führen, mich in Deutschland zu besuchen und endlich ruhige Nachmittage mit den Freunden zu genießen, die ihm geblieben sind – nach über fünf Jahren Einsamkeit und Überleben.

Mi nombre es Fabio Enrique y estoy recaudando fondos para ayudar a mi papá, quien acaba de comenzar quimioterapia tras un diagnóstico reciente de cáncer. Después de años trabajando sin parar para sostener a los demás, hoy enfrenta el momento más difícil de su vida.

Los médicos nos informaron que ya no es posible operarlo. La única opción es un tratamiento prolongado con quimioterapia para frenar el avance de la enfermedad y darle una mejor calidad de vida.

Aún estamos tratando de entender el panorama médico completo, pero hay algo que sí sabemos: **los gastos son muchos y no están cubiertos**. Aunque parte del tratamiento es cubierto por el sistema de salud pública en México, todo lo demás corre por nuestra cuenta: medicamentos, alimentación adecuada, transporte médico y, sobre todo, la posibilidad de que descanse y se recupere sin tener que volver a trabajar estando enfermo.

A pesar de todo, mi papá tiene unas inmensas ganas de vivir. Su cuerpo es un ejemplo de lucha implacable — enfrentando dolor, pérdida de peso, agotamiento emocional y físico. Sueña con volver a disfrutar de un tamal de dulce, con conocer Praga algún día, y simplemente con vivir sin molestias ni miedo.

Ha pasado la vida ayudando a otros —a sus hermanos, a su familia, a su padre desde que era niño, y a mí como hijo— y nunca tuvo un respaldo para sí mismo. Durante la pandemia del COVID, mientras vivía en Canadá, siguió trabajando a diario — arriesgándose a contagiarse a pesar de tener diabetes, hipertensión y otros problemas de salud. Ese es el tipo de hombre que es: siempre presente, incluso cuando nadie lo espera.

Ahora necesita que lo ayudemos.

La meta de esta campaña es reunir **€100,000 EUR** para cubrir su tratamiento, medicamentos, alimentación, gastos básicos y su recuperación fisica, psycologica y emocional. Si logra recuperarse, sueña con llevar un pequeño negocio desde casa, visitarme en Alemania, y por fin tener tardes de calma con las amistades que aún le quedan — después de más de cinco años de soledad y lucha.
