My dad (John/Jack Brown) is one of those rare people who has always shown up for others, quietly and without ever expecting anything in return.
Maybe he coached your son, or drove you to the airport or helped you move or listened while you vented or looked out for you when you didn't even know he was...
A lifelong social worker, coach, community & international volunteer, umpire and mentor to many, he's the kind of person who gives his time, energy, and heart to help others succeed.
Now he is facing cancer, and the road ahead includes treatments and expenses that go beyond what we as a family can cover.
We recently learned that his condition falls into just 3% of cases in which the patient is MMR deficient. This is actually GOOD news, because it means chemotherapy and surgery are not the recommended treatment paths and instead, he'll be eligible for immunotherapy. This kind of therapy is much easier on his system and has a very high likelihood of succeeding in beating the cancer.
The only catch? It's not covered by OHIP and quite expensive.
This page is simply a way for us to ask for help so he can focus fully on healing and strength, not financial stress.
Any support, whether through a donation or by sharing this page, truly means more to us than words can express.
Whether you can donate or not, we ask that you
a) say a prayer and
b) spread this fundraising effort to anyone who knows him.
He's rallied for so many of us, now let's rally for him!
