He Means the World to Us ❤️❤️❤️

My name is Ifel. I am the eldest amongst the 7 of our Lolo Pilo (grandfather).  I live in the Gold Coast and my Lolo lives in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, Philippines, with my Lola (grandmother) and the rest of my family.  My Lolo Pilo (and Lola Maria) paved the way for us. He is the most devoted and hardworking Man I have ever known. His family came first more than anything else. His life is all about family and God. That’s all that made him happy and contented.  People who knows him have a great respect for the Man that he is. He takes pride in his work and for who he is. He is a great Leader and a great follower. There was nothing that he couldn’t do.  When Lolo suffered from a stroke years ago, our family decided that he needed to stop working. From then on, Lolo Pilo and my Lola devoted their lives to the church and it’s community. Lolo is a very active Lay Minister in Cathedral Chuch. We would make jokes that soon he’d be promoted as the head priest because he’s there constantly. Not missing a chance to serve the church. Then, a few weeks ago, he had another stroke. This time, it was so bad that he lost all movement on his left side of the body and left blood clots in his brain. Because of this, Lolo needed a  nasogastric (NG) tube. It is a small tube that goes into the stomach through the nose so food and some medication can be administered from there. Knowing my Lolo, he persisted and tried to defy all odds. For the next few days, my Lolo responded well in the medication that was given to him. Amidst his condition, my Lolo tried his best to organise something for my Lola’s upcoming birthday that time. My Lola has Dementia. Even with my Lolo’s condition, he still made an effort to make out words so we can celebrate Lola’s birthday. He was so adamant that he asked my Aunt to call me so I can make sure we buy my Lola her favourite mango flavoured ice cream. I wish I could talk about the love that my grandparents have for each other. But now isn’t the time for that... just as everything was looking hopeful, Lolo contacted pneumonia. After 2 days of treating the pneumonia, his doctor advised for my Lolo to be discharged from the hospital.  Less than 24hrs of being home with his beloved wife, Lola Maria, my Lolo Pilo stopped responding. My family rushed him back to Holy Child Hospital. But this time, he was put in the ICU. The pneumonia came back. This time, stronger than ever.  Right now, my Lolo Pilo is breathing through the help of a ventilator. The bills are piling up the roof. His everyday medication is getting heavier and more expensive. My family and I do not know where to find the means anymore. We have taken up loans but it’s just not enough. We can’t keep up anymore with the bills and his medications. I do not know how much time he’s got with us. All I know is, he’s a survivor and has been fighting since day 1. We cannot give up on him. He never gave up on any of us when we needed him and my Lola.  Please help us. From my family to yours, we are knocking on your doors and ask for your help. All we need is for my Lolo to feel comfortable. We will accept whatever fate has in store for him... we just don’t want him to feel uncomfortable.  Even a dollar will go a long way. All we need is some spare from your family if you can. Thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts!!!
