Aloha Friends and Ohana,

Iʻve been asked to generate a GoFundMe for anyone who would like to contribute in monetary donations to cover any and/or all expenses for Amber Malia Alimboyoguen, "Teitei" Tim Shirl Golden (Schoenhardt) & Temana in the untimely death of their Son and Brother, Shawn Laniakea Schoenhardt. On behalf of the Acosta, Nance, Alimboyoguen Schoenhardt Ohana and Waimea High School Class of 1998 we would like to express our sincere appreciation for all recent donations made.

Shawn Laniakea was born on February 16, 2015 Mom and Son were flown over to Honolulu, Oʻahu where they were given special attention at the Neonatal Infant Care Unit at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children.  He was born a pre-mature infant diagnosed with a birth-defect called  Hydrocephalus, a condition in which there is an accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid within the brain causing hemorrhaging, or bleeding.  Symptoms of this condition include vomiting, sleepiness, seizures and downward pointing of eyes. With babies there is also a rapid increase in head size.  Although, through his adversities, Shawn was a happy healthy baby boy.  He kept his Mom up nights and wanted nothing more then to play and laugh, ready to enter school this 2018 school year.  He enjoyed being the center of attention and looked forward to anyone willing to share stories with him.  He is most certainly loved.  His smile and his all around playful energy and boyish charm would brighten anyoneʻs day. During months of deployment in Afghanistan, Dad would often Facetime Shawn in anticipation of his homecoming. Kicking and wiggling about expressing his deep love for his Dad, even from afar.   He loved his brother Temana, (6yrs) and enjoyed watching him skate around outside with the neighborhood kids or playing on the beach and going on adventures with Mom. From saving the island of invasive plants to cleaning the ocean of pollution and participating in cultural perpetuation where  Shawn, in his own superhero way, is well known in the community for his efforts and support.  He cruised around in his chariot wagon all day, his presence supplying a multitude of happiness and joy.

On May 19th 2018, Shawn endured a lack of respiratory flow in his lungs and eventually a significant drop in heart rate which lead to it seizing.  He was only 3 years old.  The Ohana suffers a great loss and as we uplift and support all at this time, words cannot express the unexpected loss of Shawn Laniakea Schoenhardt and your generosity will not go unnoticed.  He will and is missed by all.
