Help Me Save My Eyesight – Urgent Surgery Needed”
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out with a sincere request for help. A few days ago, while I was gardening at my rental home, a very small piece of metal accidentally entered my eye. I went to Delta Hospital for a checkup, and unfortunately, they informed me that my MSP (Medical Services Plan) had expired, so I had to cover all the costs out of pocket, which were very high.
My eye was in a lot of pain — it was bleeding and watering constantly whenever I tried to open or close it. The doctor also told me that my eyesight is already weak, and if I didn’t get surgery within 24 hours, I could permanently lose vision in that eye. I asked if the treatment could wait until my MSP gets renewed, but they said it was too risky. Waiting could cause an infection, making the condition worse and even more expensive to treat.
Because of how urgent it was, they transferred me to Surrey Memorial Hospital for surgery. But again, they asked for my Care Card, which was still expired, so the costs continued to add up. On top of everything, the surgeon had separate fees as well.
I’m currently unemployed, I don’t have any insurance, and I’m alone here in Canada. My parents back home are also not in a position to help financially, and I’m struggling to afford the treatment on my own.
That’s why I’m humbly asking for your support. The total cost of the treatment is around $20,000 CAD, and I’m not able to manage that alone. If you can help in any way — even a small amount — it would mean the world to me. Every bit of support will bring me one step closer to recovery and help save my eyesight.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and support.
