I'm sharing this for a close friend Alex. He's going through a very painful and difficult time. Last week, he traveled with his mother from Los Angeles to Memphis by bus, hoping to start a new chapter in life, having a house for rent lined up. But during their trip, while passing through Texas, ICE agents boarded the bus and detained his mother, an undocumented immigrant from Honduras who had lived in the U.S. for many, many years. She has no criminal record and has worked hard to build a life here, and worked for a living. Alex, selflessly, gave her their last $300 so she wouldn’t be without resources after being deported.

He recently arrived in Memphis with nothing—no money, no support system, and no place to stay. The housing he had arranged for himself and his mom is no longer available without a (not disclosed previously) deposit, which he simply doesn’t have now. He’s now stranded and homeless in an unfamiliar city. He is currently living in shelters.

To be clear, Alex is a U.S. citizen, bilingual, hard-working, and deeply selfless. He has always worked for the money he has. All he needs now is a little help to get back on his feet—just enough to secure a safe place to live and survive while he looks for work.

We’re asking for anything you can contribute to help cover a housing deposit, basic living expenses, and immediate needs during this crisis. He is one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet, and right now, he’s facing a devastating low - losing his mom, his family stability, and his shelter all at once.

I know a lot of us have been through a tough time, and even if you haven't, I hope you can try to put yourself in his shoes and lend a hand - even a few dollars could make a big difference for him!
