Hello,
My name is Abella Surabian. I am a graduate of the Milton Hershey School (MHS), Class of 2018. My little brother Logan Surabian, who is 9 years old, has been attending MHS since he was in 1st grade. In 2016, Logan lost his mother. To make matters worse on January 3rd, 2020 our father passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Logan loved our dad and admired him more than anything in this world. He was a daddy's boy for sure and our dad was his hero. Our father was a retired K9 police officer and was involved in PA search and rescue. Logan wanted nothing more than to be just like our dad. He was devastated when he lost his mother and now after losing his father as well, he is left with no parents. My mother Jamie Surabian, who has no biological relations to Logan, has cared for him practically his whole life. She is his sponsor at MHS and loves him as her own. He even refers to her as his Auntie Jamie, and always has since he was a baby. Now she is the closest person he has to a mother and, with both biological parents in Heaven, he needs someone to be his legal guardian. As soon as we heard the news of our father (my moms ex husband) passing, she was the first arms Logan fell into. After meeting with the attorney today my mother found out that gaining custody of Logan would not be an easy task and would come at a heavy cost financially. Gaining guardianship of a child who has no parents should not cost thousands of dollars, but unfortunately it does. So we are asking for some help. Time is running short and any financial assistance we can get to help with these costs would mean so much to us. All we want is to be able to keep Logan with my brother and I, and not have to worry about us ever being apart. Thank you for taking the time to hear our story. God bless everyone and aways remember to “Inhale LOVE, and Exhale KINDNESS”.
