A little hero and his family need our help. Xavier Petry, age 11, has been diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma (a type of bone cancer). He was having pain in his back, and the results of the tests would be heartbreaking news for any family. His current situation requires treatment at Natiomwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH.
I know Every family has had someone that needs help, and this time of year is a little more difficult than others because of the holidays, but please let me share a little more about this family.
Xavier's father Tony, has been fighting brain cancer for 10 years. His wife Ashley, calls her son and her husband her heroes. Tony travels to the Cleveland Clinic for his chemo, while Xavier deals with his treatments and travels to Children's Hospital.
Ashley and Tony have twins, age 8, who have Beckwirh-wiedemann Syndrome. Beckwith‑Wiedemann syndrome is a congenital (present from birth) growth disorder that causes large body size, large organs, and other symptoms.
This family is a true definition of strength, and courage. They have never asked anyone for anything, they have the faith in their family and strength through others, my definition of a family full of heroes.
