Medical assistance for Linton

Hi my name is Donna and while on vacation in Jamaica I met this amazing single mother of 2, who was working at the resort in Lucea just outside of Montego Bay Jamaica. Meeting Ingrid for the first time, I found her to be an extremely warm and friendly woman. However, little did I know the struggle and hardships Ingrid was challenged with daily, caring for her ill son and trying to keep up with her demanding position at work. Her teenage son Linton, is extremely ill and will require a series of very expensive medical procedures. These medical procedures will have to be paid for, by Ingrid herself and will impose severe financial burdens on her family.

Linton is a student at Knoxx College in Kingston Jamaica and like any ordinary teenager, was always an active student and enjoyed playing soccer. Since his illness started, Linton has been unable to attend classes. He was hospitalized April 25, 2022, after experiencing severe pain in his right leg, around the Easter holiday. Linton was recommended to have several X-rays and undergo several blood tests.

These tests confirmed that Linton had several lesions in the pelvic bone area and his bones were becoming very brittle. He was immediately admitted to the Cornwall Regional hospital and after several weeks there, he was then transferred to the University Hospital of the West Indies in Kingston Jamaica. This Hospital is a semiprivate institution, and all costs will have to be paid for by Ingrid. There are ongoing daily fees for hospitalization, plus all the costs for any required tests, medications or procedures. Linton has been diagnosed with hypoparathyroidism which results in low calcium plus a malignant tumor has been detected on one of his parathyroid. This tumor will need to be surgically removed and then another operation will be required on his hips, due to slipped femoral epiphysis.

Despite all that Linton is going through, he still exudes an amazing zest for life and continues to be such a happy and positive young man. I am reaching out for any assistance for this mother to help her boy overcome these medical procedures and her financial burdens. If you are can assist, it would be very much appreciated.

$3,000 – daily rate while in hospital

$98,000 – testing prior to surgery

$400,000 - to perform surgery to remove the tumor in his neck & repair and replace bones in his hips

$25,000 – to purchase pin to be placed in his hip
