Recently, while volunteering at the food pantry, Billy and I met the sweetest family. They had fallen on hard times and were stuck in a vicious cycle. Just a little help to get them back on their feet will go a long way!! This could happen to any of us!

Ryan and Mariya have two beautiful children, a 7 yr old girl and a 2 yr old boy. They are expecting their next child soon! Ryan is a graduate of Stony Brook University.

Things were going well until Ryan was diagnosed with Lyme disease. This disease hit him in the heart and brain. Ryan had a heart attack which led to a brain embolism when he was diagnosed with Covid three months after the Lyme diagnosis.

He was then laid off from his banking job of 13 years.

Ever since, it had been a huge financial struggle for Ryan as he lost his housing back in March. For the last seven months, Ryan and his family have been living out of motels and their car. They have been trying to get into permanent housing, but have been having a very difficult time coming up with the 3 months worth of rent needed in advance for an apartment.

Ryan has been dealing with further health complications in which he has been determined to be permanently disabled with neuropathy and memory issues. Despite these complications, Ryan is working for Uber Eats trying to provide for his family. His aspirations are to get into a better job in an office because the running around is physically damaging to the health. All of their belongings are in two storage units which have fallen behind on payments and are set for auction. Ryan's goal with this funding is to get secure housing, get up to date with bills and give his family the stability they deserve.

No child should have to live like this.
