hi!

i’m sól, a two spirit taino latine person, I use he and they pronouns.

I knew at an incredibly young age that I was trans. I may not have had the language to describe my experience yet, but I knew. I was raised in christianity and was taught that anything outside of heteronormativity was a sin, and the worst thing a person could do. Fast forward to age 11 and I remember wearing four sports bras at night in order to try and stop the growing of my chest. As I entered puberty and later adulthood, this looming presence of my chest and the dysphoria it gives me has only gotten more intense.

This dysphoria, along with my sensory issues, have made living this way unbearable. Binding is very difficult for my body to handle and causes sensory overload and autistic meltdowns. This is something I will never grow out of and no medication or therapy will ever change. Truly, top-surgery is my last and only option.

Speaking on this topic is very painful - sharing this trauma is very vulnerable and it is so hard for me to accept that I need to ask for help with this matter. As I am no longer masking my autistic traits or keeping my trans identity locked deep inside to survive in my christian household, it's time to take control of my life. I cannot live a lie in my body anymore.

I am humbly asking for help to continue feeling like I have a purpose, by living my truth in a body that feels comfortable, and allows me to show up for other community members!
