If you have ever been a guest at our house, I’m sure you have been greeted by our most loyal and beautiful outside black cat Kiara AKA KiKi. Unfortunately, on October 25th she got attacked by a dog right outside our home. After being rushed to the Vet, the good news is that she’s still with us today. The bad news was that she needed a wound repair from the initial bite and an FHO surgery to fix a broken hip. After a few days her progress began to worsen and the wound from the bite began to get infected. Another ER trip was needed to bandage the wound. A bag full of medicine and high hopes she’s luckily in good spirits. She’s finally eating and drinking, using the bathroom, and is alert as ever. After feeling positive about our next vet visit, it was too good to be true. Another turn for the worse. They are now recommending that her leg be amputated due to the skin underneath dying from infection. We are hoping for the best and KiKi is one hell of a fighter. Kayla and I are normally not the type to ask for help, we handle things head on and keep it moving. Unfortunately this whole ordeal has cost our family nearly $5k in vet bills alone. With Christmas around the corner and a baby of our own on the way, financially we are in a tight spot. Our family and friends keep asking if there is anything they can do to help so we decided to do this. Anything helps and every bit of it counts. KiKi and us love and appreciate all the love and support.
