Caring for Carter Davis
Donation protected

Dear friends, Weston and Jen Davis could use a little help. What started as a tummy ache for their son Carter, turned into a diagnosis of Crohn's disease. Just nine days before Christmas, Carter was admitted to the hospital. After undergoing multiple lab tests, hundreds of questions, a full body cleanse, scopes and MRI's, doctors sent Carter home on December 23 to spend Christmas with his family. After 10 days at home with family, Carter was having intense pain again and went back to the hospital for more testing. This time doctors found a racquetball sized abscess in his abdomen. Carter underwent surgery to drain and remove the abscess. He has had a PICC line inserted to administer nutrients and is awaiting further testing, labs, and CT scans. Even with a diagnosis of Crohn's there are still other symptoms that have gone unanswered and are still continuing to be addressed.
Being home will still bring challenges of finding the best medicines to treat his Crohn's and learning which foods are safe to eat. Included in his treatment, he will have occupational, physical and behavioral therapy as well as home health visits from a nurse to help with dressing his PICC line and general wellness visits. He has a long road to recovery that hopefully can begin soon.
Many have asked how they can help show their love and support for the family at this time. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help this amazing family. The money raised from GoFundMe will help the family offset medical costs and supplement lost income from Jen taking time off work to be with Carter. You can donate through GoFundMe or Venmo Jen and Weston directly through @Jen-WestonDavis.
