On July 24, we lost an amazing member of our Sherman Lake YMCA Camp family. "Grandpa Steve" as he was so lovingly referred to, passed away in a car accident. This was Steven Erickson's 16th summer here at the Sherman Lake YMCA Camp. Everyday he arrived with the same level of enthusiasm, excitement and love for his campers and fellow staff members. There was never a time when his generous spirit and true caring for others wasn't shining through. We will miss Steven with all our hearts and our thoughts and prayers go out to Lena, Kahlan and all of Steven's family members.

So we are calling out to all our Sherman Lakers, far and wide, to honor Grandpa Steve by showing his family that we also feel his loss.  By setting up this fund, we will continue to remember our friend and cohort.  Steven will always be a role model for our creed of Honesty, Caring, Respect & Responsibilty. 

Lena has approved this idea and expressed appreciation for our concern and efforts to support her family.  We believe that Lena alone can determine the best use of any funds generated.  If you wish to honor Steven in this way, any amount will be appreciated. 

Think of Steve when given an opportunity to help a child and everyone’s lives will be just a little kinder.
