Emma's Road to Recovery

Just two days after her Senior prom, Emma Barber finally found out the reason for months of all of the headaches, dizziness, and nausea but it was something none of us ever imagined.  Emma was diagnosed with a large brain tumor and immediately scheduled for surgery. The Road to Recovery started on 4/30/19 when she came out of a 5 hour surgery to remove the tumor.  The surgery was deemed a success, but the real work has just begun.  Emma must relearn to breathe on her own; hopefully, a short lesson for a young lady that is so bright. Each day that passes brings another step forward but this could be a very long road. We wanted to do something for Emma and the family as our son has grown "very fond" of this young lady and she has become like a daughter to us.
Emma's family, Jackie and Jason Mack, Jillian and Bodie have been by her side from the beginning which comes with a huge cost between time away from work, travel between Bloomington and Indianapolis, and stays in Indianapolis in order to be within minutes of her during this critical time. Emma is just a few weeks away from graduating from Bloomington High School North.  She plans to attend Purdue University in fall. The amount of rehabilitation in the near future will prevent her from working and saving for college. Also, the medical bills will be unimaginable between the surgery and the amazing care she is receiving in the neuro ICU.  Please help this family with medical expenses and travel costs, and Emma with upcoming college expenses. It is hard to imagine the impact this has.... Some of you may know Emma and give just because she is an amazing person and probably one of the most caring individuals you will ever meet. We also hope some of you will give because you realize that this is something someone this young, smart, and with such a bright future should not have to go through. We pray for her speedy recovery and will do whatever it takes to make her Road to Recovery as short a trip as possible.
