Help Chris w/Medical & Living Cost

Hi, my name is Sheila Bracewell, but this is about my husband Chris. That's his leg you see in the picture. Before I tell you what happened, please let me tell you about Chris. On Jan 16th we will be married for 28 years and I hope we have 28 more. If I had to tell  you about Chris using just a few words I would start with these: Honorable, Loyal, Hardworking, Honest, Sweet, Humorous, Protective, Dedicated, Faithful, Dependable, Generous.... well you get the idea. I can honestly say that he is the best person I have ever met.
Despite having Rhemotuid Arthritis, he works  around 70 hours a week to take care of his family. In over 10 years I can count on one hand the number of days he has missed work! He is the kind of person who lives by a certain code that his PaPa taught him growing up. He has always helped others and tried to be the kind of man that our son & daughter would look up to.
On 12/9/15 he called me to meet him at the Urgent Care. As soon as he said that I knew something had to be wrong! He has never done that. His left leg was beet red from the knee down and felt hot to the touch. It had just started since 4am when he gets up to go to work. His temp was 104.9 when the nurse took it. They sent him to the emergency room at our local hospital. He was admitted and they started him on multiple antibiotics and fluids. To begin with they thought it was cellulitis, but as time passed and it got worse and worse and each new doctor didn't have a clue what was causing it, they decided to transfer him to the Doctor's Hospital in Augusta, GA.
In the mean time we found out that the insurance we were so happy Chris had finally gotten through his job doesn't cover hospital stays, only part of Dr visits and meds. They send Chris  by ambulence to Augusta and I followed behind. Less than 24 hours later they had him in surgery where doctors put cadaver skin from him knee to ankle.
We still didn't know exactly what had caused the infection and everything to start with.  We finally found out on 12/22/15 that it did start out as cellulitis, but staph infection & MRSA caused the leg to look like it had been in a fire.
As friends and family heard about Chris and his story we had several want to set up GoFunds.  Since we don't know when Chris will be back to work and with no hospital insurance, we decided to take their advice.
Chris is scheduled for his next surgery on 1/11/16. I will post updates here as we find out what is happening. Regardless if you give a penny we ask for you to please keep Chris and our family in your prayers.
We are far from a rich family, we have been living paycheck to paycheck for a while now. Our cars are no where near new and our idea of going out to eat is getting something off the $1 menu. If you do give, your money will be used to pay everything from his hospital bills, keeping our lights on and our house from being forclosed on to paying our truck payment, gas for going back and forth to hospital and just daily expenses. Please pass this on to others who you know will also pray for us.  We do believe that God can still do miracles and we are asking for one now. Thank you for reading my husbands story.   God Bless!
