We proudly announce that the Hockey Club Fairbanks 19U Girls Tier II team won the 2024 Pacific District Hockey Championships this past February in San Jose, California! This win has earned them a spot in the National Tournament on April 3-7, 2024, in East Lansing, Michigan. What an accomplishment from a group of young women from Alaska! The Hockey Club Fairbanks girls program allows our female youth to participate in and represent Fairbanks in competitive hockey, which builds pride, team spirit, confidence, and a sense of community while instilling a healthy lifestyle and strong work ethic.

While the celebration and pride continue for the Team, Coaches, and Families, the reality of planning for the trip to the Nationals quickly sets in. We have a little over two weeks to prepare and must plan all the logistics, including tournament fees, ice time, flights, hotels, and ground transportation, not to mention all the hard work the Coaches and Team will put in to prepare to play. The financial commitment required to allow these girls to participate in this wonderful team sport is challenging enough under normal circumstances. The Hockey Club Fairbanks 19U Girls Tier II team's success also comes with an increased financial burden. With an estimated budget of $35,000 for flights, accommodation, and ground transportation for the Team and Coaches alone, we are soliciting your help.

We hope that the achievements of this team and the other teams within the Hockey Club Fairbanks girls program will encourage other young women to participate in the sport of hockey and ensure future generations have the opportunity. This is not just a sport, but a means to shape our youth into strong community citizens!
