Help getting caught up
My name is Elisa. I am helping my step-daughters mom get back on her feet. She works for a large non-profit and is severely underpaid for what she does. In the past year, many things have contributed to her getting behind and not being able to catch up. Every time she gets there, something happens to put her behind again. She is living in a 100 year old house and has a car that was left to her after her father passed. As you can see from the picture, it has a lot of work to be done. She is working tirelessly to do what is needed to make it more livable. As many people know when you fix one thing, another thing breaks. She has dealt with broken water pipes, broken bathroom sinks, mold, and vehicle issues. On top of all that, she has medical bills and procedures that she must pay.
Together, we have literally called every organization that is supposed to help others. Unfortunately, she makes "too much" at the current poverty rate. We have looked at her bills. She has the bare minimum and just paying bills, she still ends up behind each month due to some outstanding bills, with barely anything left for food. We have cut out all unnecessary "amenities" and prioritized food, budgeting down to the dollar. We also use the "buy nothing" Facebook sites to eliminate purchasing things when possible.
Many of you may be asking, why are you helping her. The simple answer is she is my daughters mother and she is a good human being. We treat each other with dignity and respect. Like I told her, Ohana means family and we never leave family behind. She is family, whether we liked it or not in the beginning, it's the truth. We have been in each others lives for 15 years and if something happens to her, it affects us. We have been there for each other and have raised a beautiful young lady. She never hesitates to take my daughter when we need someone to watch her. She has a good soul and deserves so much better than she has right now.
I am asking for $7000 to catch up on bills, pay back those who have helped her along, and get her car and house back into shape. She has no idea I am doing this, but I can guarantee, anyone that donates will be changing someone's life for the better! Thank you in advance for your consideration.
