Hi, I’m Rudy
I’m only little, but I’ve been very brave.
I have one eye, a wonky little face, and a BIG love for food!
When I was only about four weeks old, I was found hurt and alone by a kind lady called Fiona. Something had attacked me. The vets think it was a big tomcat. I had a puncture wound through my tiny head and my eye couldn’t be saved. I had my first big surgery when I was still just a baby. They took my eye away so I could live.
Don’t feel sad for me, I may only have 1 eye but all I see is love!
Fiona took me home and loved me while I healed. Her dog became my best friend. I followed him everywhere and learned that even after something very scary, the world could still be kind.
When I was old enough, the Cork Cat Action Trust helped me get ready to find my forever family. While I was at the vets getting my vaccinations, they noticed my jaw wasn’t growing the right way. My bottom teeth were pushing into my mouth and hurting me. I still tried to eat like a champion because I LOVE food, but it was sore.
So this week I had another big surgery.
Amy, Sarah and the wonderful team at Blackpool Veterinary Hospital took such gentle care of me. They had to remove all my bottom teeth to stop the pain and damage in my mouth. It was a lot for a small kitten, but they were the very best and looked after me so kindly. I’m home now, recovering in my foster home with lots of soft food, cosy blankets, and other cats to play with. I still love everyone I meet. I still purr all the time. I still get very excited about dinner.
I don’t know I’m different. I just know I’m loved.
Because my face was damaged when I was so tiny, I will probably need more dental surgery again in a few months when my grown-up teeth come in. This week’s surgery alone cost around €500, and that’s on top of the cost of my eye surgery before that. That’s alot of money but my foster mam says I’m worth it! The Cork Cat Action Trust is a small rescue who help many other little kittens like me so I’d love to help raise some money to help them cover these costs.
All funds raised will go directly to my veterinary care. Any extra will help with the future treatment I will need as I get bigger.
If you can donate, you’re helping a tiny face hurt less.
If you can’t donate, sharing my story helps more than you know.
I’ve been through a lot in my short life, but I still greet every day with purrs, head bumps, and a lot of hope.
Thank you for loving a tiny kitten who has been through a lot but still trusts everyone he meets.
Love,
Rudy
