Her Fight is Our Fight

On October 7th the YMCA Childcare received some very devastating news. Glenda Cottrell , our Site Coordinator at Amherst Elementary was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of pancreatic cancer. Glenda has worked for the YMCA since August of 2009 and has made a huge impact on hundreds of children and families in our program. She is loved by all that come in contact with her and is known to a have smile that brightens everyone’s day.  She is currently recovering from surgery and hopefully will begin some treatments soon.  We are asking for everyone to keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers as she fights this battle. We are looking to help ease the financial burden of the ever growing medical expenses along with travel expenses and loss wages.  Help us reinforce to Glenda what the, “Y Family” is all about as we show her that “Her fight is our fight” and we will not let her fight alone.
