Hello all! I'm Amanda, Melissa's sister, Brad's raddest SIL and Eily's Auntie. As some of you know, Eily received a pretty devastating Cancer diagnosis last week. Thankfully, the plan for her treatment is swift, well organized and already under way!!! 

First, a quick synopsis.  Eily was diagnosed with ALL, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  Within 36 hours she was admitted to OHSU for immediate treatment that has included slews of medications and of course Chemo…

This first phase will take a month.  She should be coming home just before her 19th birthday.  At that time Phase 1, Induction, will be complete.  But then Phase 2, Consolidation, begins.   That will be 8 weeks, which means through the holiday season, she will be going to have chemo, (in Eugene) 4x’s a week.  The Final Phase will last 2 years…. Less intense but meds will be in pill form.  This is a long haul.  Which means they will need ongoing support. Thankfully, the prognosis is excellent with treatment. 

The purpose of this page is to generate funds to help with the crazy medical expenses, deductibles, travel to Portland and Eugene, and day to day expenses that come with this type of treatment to try to remove some of the stress for Mel and Brad during this unknown path. Mel will be staying with E for the duration. Thankfully Mel has a pretty fantastic employer who is allowing her to work remote. She will of course be working reduced hours. Brad will take time off intermittently and be traveling back and forth.

We will post updates as time allows. It’s been amazing to see how many people love our sassy little spitfire as much as her family does. She’s touched the lives of so many, in so many different facets!! As most of you know, she’s been through some shit. She always comes back swinging and expect nothing less.
