Hi, my name is Maria Aguilar and I would like to present to you REDDOG.

Written and directed by Will Whitney, in collaboration with Perla Jimenez as Director of Photography, and myself as Producer, this student film will also serve as our senior thesis.

FILM

This harrowing, real-life experience, was shared with Will during his time in Marine Corps Combat Training back in 2010.

"A U.S. Marine on patrol in Afghanistan steps on a land mine and must remain perfectly still while waiting for help to arrive."

We are supremely confident in our script, and each one of us brings a unique perspective to the project. We have received numerous compliments and support from both students and faculty.

FUNDING

All of this praise, however, brings to light a pressing issue. To achieve the level of detail and realism we desire, it is going to come at a cost. That is why we need your help with this ambitious project.

For example, all military films have one thing in common, uniformity. Funding will be needed to provide all actors with matching and accurate uniforms, prop weapons, and even military vehicles. It is a personal pet peeve of Will for spotting inaccuracies in the clothing or weapons of military films, and thus we will try to avoid it at all cost. We have already scouted locations and are in contact with a private contractor for the rental of actual military vehicles.

As one can imagine, the cost is staggering, yet it does not end there.  Apart from location and actors, our crew must be provided with overnight housing, food catering, transportation, supplies, and communications. While on set our crew will need, shelter from the harsh desert sun, and the environment. While we originally wanted to have tents/canopies for our crew, our scouting trip revealed that the location has severe wind and it would be ideal to rent an RV rather than tents and a portable restroom.

FILMING

Filming will be conducted in February of 2019,  in order to lock down locations and vehicles, we must have payment ready by mid-January.

While we continue planning the logistics for this project, any donated amount received gives us great reassurance and only adds to our perseverance.

GRATITUDE

We would be eternally grateful for any and all support that can be given to this endeavor of ours. No support is too little, anything will be appreciated. We are grateful in advanced.

STORY BACKGROUND

Apart from this film just being used for us to graduate, we feel all this extra effort will enhance our degree and our development as artists.

We of this project would like to remind everyone that this story, is in fact, real. It actually happened to a United States Marine and we all have a certain drive to make this project to the best of our abilities. We are even attempting to track down the very Marine who told Will this story almost 10 years ago.

Since then, Will has had the idea for the script locked away and has been waiting for the perfect opportunity to bring it to life. Perla and I saw great potential in the script that we decided to be a part of this project.
