Hope for Maxwell

Hi All,

This page is being set up by a friend for the Elliott Family.  The Maxwell family are busy taking care of there family and will update this page later.  For now, below is a little message from Brian on Max.

We found out at 12 weeks that Maxwell had gastroschisis, which means that his bowels would be born on the outside of his abdomen, My wife went into premature labor at 34 weeks and delivered at Methodist womens hospital, Maxwell was then transported to Childrens hospital to have surgery on his abdomen, they were unable to put all of his bowels back in, so they left them out and suspended them in a sterile bag called a "Silo", after 7 days of waiting for his bowels to slowing go back down. He then had another surgery to close his abdomen. He was extubated after his surgery and we finally got to hold him, we will be here for at least another month, the little guy has to learn how to eat, he has had an oral gastric tube since shortly after birth to help decompress his abdomen. It will be a long journey but we cherish everyday with Maxwell.
