Keeping Hope Alive

Donation protected
I was diagnosed with stage III Breast Cancer in December 2019.  I felt as if the earth's foundation buckled under me.  I was terrified at what this diagnosis meant for my life.  I began chemotherapy in February (1st pic) and finished in early July (2nd pic).  Undergoing cancer treatment during a pandemic was a daunting, scary and lonely experience.  I had to go to all of my treatments and appointments alone. During these times, although I felt alone I knew that just a few feet away in another part of the hospital, people were losing their lives all alone with no one to comfort them. I continued to remind myself that my discomfort was temporary and that I was going to go home in a few hours.  Following chemo, I had surgery in August to remove all the cancerous breast tissue.  I then began radiation treatment in September.  The last photo is the radiation technicians dressed up for Halloween- my final treatment. I have another surgery that will happen in the spring and will be receiving ongoing treatment.

If you know me at all, you know that I believe in hard work.  I don't make excuses for my failures and constantly strive to improve.  I believe it is my duty to leave the world a better place than I found it - dedicating myself to improving my community over the course of a twenty year career in Nonprofit.

The economic impact of my diagnosis has been life changing.  This obstacle is not one that I can overcome alone.  I need help.  I am asking for assistance to pay for my medical bills and to cover the costs of my upcoming surgery.  I am doing this as a last resort.  I have been out of work since April of 2020.  I have tried to keep up with all of my bills but it is impossible.  The copay for 1 session of chemo is $1,287 - that's one session.

I encourage everyone to get their cancer screenings and encourage their loved ones to do so as well.  No one deserves the suffering that cancer brings.

Any donations will be appreciated.  Peace and Blessings.
