My goal is to raise money to help defray medical costs for my dear friend and classmate, Brett. Brett has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 Sarcoma cancer at 23 years old. Sarcoma cancer is a rare cancer of the connective tissues, such as nerves, fat, muscles, joints and bone. On August 11th Brett went to the doctor because he had a lump the size of a golf ball on his upper left thigh. Within two weeks it was the size of a baseball. He was sent to a surgeon for review and after an MRI they determined the lump was soft tissue sarcoma. Within a week it was the size of a softball. A biopsy then showed that it was sarcoma cancer. After having a CT scan, another tumor was found in Brett's lungs. At that point he was diagnosed with stage 4 Sarcoma. Brett just finished his second round of chemo. He is expected to do 4 cycles. Each cycle is five days of 24 hour meds through a port in his chest.
I want to raise money for Brett in hopes that this will eleviate some of the financial stress and I also want to make more people aware of Sarcoma cancer. Brett is a very kind-hearted, softspoken genuine man. His classmates and I are on a quest to do all that we can for an incredible person.
