While serving overseas with the Marine Corps, one of our Marines received heartbreaking news just two months before we were scheduled to return home—his younger brother, Alfredo Arrioja Analco, passed away at the age of 21. Alfredo was a true fighter who defied the odds after doctors once said he wouldn’t live past 12. Tragically, his passing comes just three years after their other brother lost his life in a motorcycle accident. Alfredo leaves behind a grieving mother, sister, and his older brother—who is still deployed and is currently trying to find a way back home to be with his family during this painful time.
