Palliative Care in Kosova Fund
Donation protected
Dear Friends:
I ask you to please take a moment and consider donating as much as you see fit for the only Palliative Care Center in Kosova.
As you may know, rate of chronic diseases and cancers is rising in Kosovo while the health infrastructure is underdeveloped and struggling. Currently there is no health insurance for people in the country and terminally ill patients are suffering greatly.
This Palliative Care Center is located in the town of Gjakova, Kosova, and is run by one physician and two nurses. They provide free care, including more than 3,000 home visits per year to terminally ill patients in the community and surrounding villages. The center is run by the Non-Govermental Organization (NGO), Smile International, and relies mainly on donations for their work. Local government has been unable to provide any support so far.
I appreciate your consideration and help in achieving my goal for this important cause.
Please contact me for more information.
Sincerely,
Mimoza Meholli, MD, FACP
