Hazel Needs Surgery

Dear community, family, friends, dog lovers alike; Hazel had an unfortunate incident last spring and tore her CCL (equivalent of the ACL in humans), she has had a limp ever since. At first we thought she would get better with conservative management of pain control and activity restriction but she continues to be very limited. She can only walk for less than a mile and is unable to hike/run. Hazel is only 5 years old! For the last 9 months she has been favoring her right knee, which can lead to other imbalances, pain etc. Experts tell me she could develop severe arthritis in the affected knee as well as the opposing knee if she continues to limp.

Long story short, Hazel is in need of tibial plateau leveling surgery, to change the angle of the tibia on the femur (the only way to successfully fix shearing forces and inflammation). The surgery is estimated to cost $5,600. I am starting a go-fund me to help raise money towards the cause and help Hazel return to her active, lively free and energetic self!
