Hello,
My name is Mya, and I am the youngest child of my parents, Hazel and Tin. I am reaching out to you as we prepare for the funeral arrangements for my beloved mother, Hazel San Htay. In our tribal Karen language, my siblings and I affectionately referred to her as "AMoe," meaning mother.
My mother's journey began in Myanmar (Yangon), where she was born and raised. In July 2012, she made the life-changing decision to move to America, sacrificing her own comfort to provide a better life for me and my siblings.
Throughout her life, my mother exemplified strength, hard work, and generosity. Her unwavering faith in Christ guided her through the toughest of times, including her nearly nine-year battle with ovarian cancer.
On February 21, 2024, my mother peacefully passed away, surrounded by love. While cancer may have taken her physical presence, it could never diminish her courage, optimism, and deep faith.
As we gather to honor and celebrate her life, we are comforted by the knowledge that she is now reunited with her loved ones in heaven. Your support during this difficult time means the world to our family, and we are grateful for your kindness and compassion.
Warm regards,
Mya
