What has happened:
A true legend has left us, a lighthouse for hundreds of people, and a force for the unconditional care, protection, counsel and defence of our most vulnerable, as well as a fierce and tireless advocate for this community to show its kindness, love and strength of heart towards each other.
Hazel's life leaves an echo that so many of us in this community will feel the pangs of with her passing.
She left us very unexpectedly after a short battle with pneumonia and complications. Hazel died in hospital care on the evening of March 15, leaving us with a clear heart and joy in her faith.
How you can help:
Please join together in her spirit of wide hearted love, and give what you can to make sure she can leave us with ease and love, and that her family, pets and home are safe and protected by our wider family over the next weeks and months.
You can make a donation here, any size and amount is received with gratitude. You can also make a donation also at the CRC.

Briefly, about Hazel - a lighthouse in our town:
The incredible, ever-present force for good that is the Denmark Homeless Project, as well as the always open arms of fierce compassion that Hazel brought to us:
~ the voice on the other end of a lifeline that so many of us have reached out to while traveling in the shadows,
~ the brave defender of our fragile,
~ and the ever-present community in one body that was Hazel
are legends and legacies that we ask you to honour by offering any help you can over these fragile days for her funeral arrangements, sudden costs and support for the housing and care of her own precious family.
This news is a great shock and a deep grief - we feel that too, and extend to all of you - especially Hazel's precious children, partner, grandchildren, darling kitties - and all of you out there who have had an earth mother, a lighthouse, a worthy sparring partner, a brave voice, an inspiration and a life-saver in Hazel.
Lets honour her example and spirit, and let this be an opportunity to unite, make peace with each other, extend our selves, and show the same courage and generosity she showed us towards Hazel's funeral now, and her legacy in the future.

If you are in need of support or need to reachout, please contact Petra at the CRC, she can point you towards the help services available.
With so much love to you all - thank you for whatever you can give.
