Remembering the brilliant Hazel McKeever

Hazel Blue was loved by everyone who met her. In our memories she’ll always be throwing herself into everything and squeezing the most fun out of life that she can find.
For some, she’s doing handstands 30ft up a chair stack at circus school; for others she’s rolling around in glitter at a festival; or spinning 10 hula-hoops while doing tricks with flower sticks; or running after Chicco through the sunlit park; or throwing water balloons for the traditional birthday water fight; or playing Ninja at Portrush beach with 20 friends; or baking vegan cakes for all the neighbours; or making carnival floats and hilarious Christmas shows with the Beat Carnival; or painting and illustrating, filling her home with unique and amazing art; or co-running a home-made lip balm business; or silly-dancing arm in arm with the friends who adored her. Hazel was always inventive and creative, always kind, and full of fun. All this we could have been celebrating today on her 15th birthday instead of saying our goodbyes to her. All this we have lost.
This is a collection in memory of Hazel, and in support of her family - Romy and Ivan and her brother and sister - to help support, sustain and lift them over the hard time ahead as they learn to live without their beloved Hazy, the baby of the family.

A note about the donations
Everything given (so generously!) to this fund will go directly to supporting Hazel McKeever's family: her mother Romy, her father Ivan, and her brother and sister. I'm a friend and colleague of Romy's from Fighting Words NI; by arrangement with the family, I’ll withdraw the donations and transfer them to Romy McKeever.
