Hi!

My name is Hayley. I am a 30 year old non binary (they/them) musician, coffee enthusiast and roastery assistant living in south wales with my wife (Bryony) and dog (Olive).

I have been struggling with my chest throughout my adult life for as long as I can remember. I’ve tried just about everything—binding, layering clothes, and constantly adjusting how I present myself in the hopes of flattening my chest and feeling at ease. But no matter what I did, I never felt truly comfortable. The physical discomfort of binding for hours, the emotional toll of never quite feeling "right," and the constant effort to hide or alter my body has been draining. It’s exhausting, and after all these years, I’ve reached the point where I can no longer live this way. I need the freedom to feel at home in my body.

As I am getting older, I have come to the realisation that I cannot put this off any longer. My disphoria has some what taken over my life and I think I owe it to myself to take the plunge. My mental health is also suffering considerably which is therefore making it impossible for me to join the waiting list for the NHS (which is currently at 6 years). Leaving me with no option but to take the private route, which although isn't cheap, means that I will be able to feel comfortable in my body a lot sooner!

However, the financial cost of surgery and related expenses is more than I can afford on my own. That’s why I’m asking for your help. Any contribution—big or small—will directly fund the surgery and help cover the medical costs. I am aiming for a whopping £10,000 as an end goal, which I appreciate sounds like an insane amount of money (it is) - but this will help me to cover all avenues.

If you’re not able to donate, sharing my fundraiser is a huge help as well. Every bit of support, whether financial or simply spreading the word would honestly mean the world to me.

I have been incredibly nervous to share this part of me with everyone as it is something I have kept very close to my chest (no pun intended).
