Hayley's Dental Surgery Fundraiser

Dear friends,

I am Hayley, a dancer and somatic movement coach who has devoted my life to supporting others in their healing journeys.

This summer I had one of the most excruciating experiences of my life when one of my lower molars cracked in half and exposed my nerve. Yeeeouch!

I learned a lot about teeth in my process of trying to decide whether to go with the traditional dentist's advice or follow my gut.

The traditional dentist said that I needed a root canal. However, I have an existing root canal from 10 years ago that I have intuitively not felt good about...

I did some research and heard story after story about how root canals went wrong, got infected and - the most interesting to me - have been linked to diseases in other areas of the body!

Our teeth are on very important meridian lines and from a wholistic perspective, when there is stagnancy it can create disease in other regions of the body. Root canals are essentially keeping a dead tooth in our body and filling it with rubber, and complications have been linked to issues as extreme as heart disease and breast cancer.

So after this research, it was clear that I wanted to remove the tooth in order to not block the meridian that I learned is connected to my lungs and large intestines (no thanks!).

Neither procedure was covered by my insurance, unfortunately. I went with a truly amazing Wholistic Dentist to do the extraction for $2k out of pocket.

They did a 3D scan of my head and found that my tooth with the existing root canal was ALSO infected at the roots. My intuitive feeling had been proven correct.

This tooth is on the meridian of my breast and stomach. Which is interesting because since I got it, I have had years and years of gut health issues. Breast cancer also runs in my family, so I do not want to gamble with that.

In addition to recommending that I get the infected tooth with the root canal out ASAP, they also recommended that I get BOTH tooth implants done at the same time to preserve the bone in my jaw. They have a great natural option that includes using my own bone and they do not use any toxic metals!

Recently I've been experiencing headaches that I sense are stemming from my infected tooth, and I don't want to put this operation off any longer.

You may know that I teach children creative movement, coach adults to heal through embodiment, and bring together our community as often as possible for embodied healing events. I am also in a year-long unpaid apprenticeship for an international somatic expressive arts therapy program.

While I live a very blessed life, I also have a humble income and live in an expensive location. While I am on my way to creating a better foundation for myself in the future, right now this procedure is beyond my capacity.

COST: This procedure costs $7,579 to extract the remaining infected tooth and put in the two natural implants.

If supporting me to restore my mouth health inspires you, or perhaps the work I offer to the world inspires you, I so appreciate your help.

May your donation ripple out goodness into the lives of others through my capacity to be of service.

With so much gratitude and love,
Hayley
