Hayley & Family - After the Fire

Donation protected
On Sunday morning 4th June 2017, the house that is shared by my best friend Hayley, her 3 year old son Eli, and her Mother and 90 year old Nan, was tragically destroyed by a fire.

The fire spread through the home in a matter of minutes, destroying everything in its path. Unfortunately Hayley, Eli and her Mother and Nan lost everything they own including Hayley's small hatch back car.

Fortunately they were all able to escape, and while Hayley, Eli and her Nan were left very shaken up, her Mother was unfortunately taken to Intensive Care where she continues to receive excellent care and is slowly on a path to recovery.

My name is Kate, and I have started this Go Fund Me account on behalf of my good friend Hayley.

Since meeting Hayley I've gotten to know her as a wonderful, strong, caring woman, who has shown such resilience in the recent years, having been through more than she should in her young age but coming out of it stronger than ever. She is someone whom I know I can always depend on to be there in times of need. She is a very loving and devoted mother to her 3 year old son Eli, whom has become her rock and whom looks up to her with such love and admiration every day.

I have started this Fundraiser for Hayley, to help her rebuild her life. Everything that she owns was taken from her in this very scary and horrific accident. All of her and Eli's clothes, shoes, accessories, books, electrical equipment, appliances, toys, photos, memories - everything was wiped in a matter of mere minutes.

Anything and everything that can be donated will be such a HUGE help for this family. Unfortunately as they no longer have a place to call home (they are staying with various generous family members at the moment), it is a bit difficult to store any donated items, however I am able to assist with storage if need be. I have created a target of $3,000 as I believe this will greatly assist Hayley and Eli, and her Mother and Nan in getting back on their feet and starting again.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this story, I hope I can achieve this goal for her as quickly as possible so that they can move on from this tradgedy.

This story also serves as a reminder of how important it is to be Fire Safety aware in your home, especially living with children and the elderly. The Victoria MFB website have excellent information on how to act and survive should a house fire occur in your home.
